Peerby & Konnektid are organising a Potluck Picnic at Amsterdam Roest city beach to celebrate the milestone of the English Peerby site, to connect the Dutchies with the many expats living in the Netherlands and to celebrate Global Sharing Day with a Big Lunch. On Global Sharing day there will be many similar initiatives all over the world in a world record attempt in simultaneous food sharing. Last but not Peerby & Konnektid want to share a lifestyle which is fun, good for your neighborhood, and helps our planet. Come and share lunch with your friends and neighbours on this beautiful city beach in Amsterdam.
In the spirit of their community sharing and building concept, Peerby & Konnektid are encouraging the picnic attendees to bring snacks and drinks along, ideally a specialty from their home countries. Picnic visitors are also encouraged to bring any blankets they can spare with them. At the Picnic itself everybody is invited to help knitting these blankets together and to leave a personal message on them. The goal is to create a constantly growing Peerby Picnic blanket, which will be used to spread the sharing spirit all over the world. Peerby members will also be able to borrow this Picnic blanket from the Peerby headquarter to use it for their own events.
Want to be involved, have questions or remarks, or need more information? We are happy to help you out. Just let us know.
See you on Global Sharing Day!

"“We believe that the success we’ve had to date with the Peerby site comes from the vision we share with our members: neighborhoods should be connected communities. The launch of the English site is crucial for us because we don’t just believe this is a Dutch phenomenon. We expect a lot of enthusiasm from the international community in the Netherlands as well.”" Daan Weddepohl, CEO and founder of Peerby.
About Peerby International
Peerby is a website that lets you easily borrow or rent (Peerby GO) things from your neighbors - with delivery, access to the things you need is even faster and more convenient. Ask Peerby for something you need, and borrow or rent it from your neighbors. With renting, you pay a small amount but you are sure to get exactly what you need, when and where you need it. The owners can make some extra cash by delivering the item themselves or let Peerby arrange delivery by bike messenger. Peerby saves you money, promotes social cohesion and enables the green life: as many as 1/8 of CO2 emissions on earth are derived from the production and consumption of durable goods. Since the launch of Peerby in September 2012, the number of members and transactions has grown exponentially. Peerby has active communities in twenty cities across Europe and in ten pilot cities in the US.
